Cooperation Agreement Between University of Veterinary Science, Yezin, Myanmar and Alfort Veterinary School (ENVA), France

Name of Training  :  Post – graduate Training on Avian Pathology

Parties                   :  University of Veterinary Science (UVS) is the only veterinary school of Myanmar.

                :  Alfort Veterinary School (ENVA) is one of the fourth French veterinary schools.

                   Ceva Sante’ Animal (CEVA), an international veterinary animal health company based in France.

Objective            :    To improve the Capacity Enhancement of Veterinarian in the field of Avian Pathology.

Field of Training :    To implement a post-graduate training program dealing with avian Pathology and sanitary poultry

                                 management.

                     :  One from ENVA (Prof. Dr. Karim Adjou)

                     :  One from CEVA (Dr. Pierre­-Marie Borne)

Representatives   :   Prof. Dr. Ye Htut Aung (Pro-Rector), Director of UVS, and

              :    Prof. Dr. Karim Adjou, Associate Professor, Department of Large Animal and

              :    Poultry Medicine, Director of ENVA (L’Ecole National Veterinary Alfort)

Place of Training Responsibility of UVS  :  University of Veterinary Science (UVS), Yezin, Nay Pyi Taw

              :  UVS will support Lecture room and Practical room for training Participation of Professors from

                 UVS

              :  Prof. Dr. Ye Htut Aung, Prf. Dr. Khin Hnin Swe, Prof. Dr. Kyaw Kyaw Moe

Budget Responsibility of ENVA  :  ENVA will select among its own professors and international Experts to provide

                                                         training.

              :  The cost of external teachers (flight tickets, visa fees, accommodation, catering and wages) has 

                 been estimated at 56000€, and will be supported by ENVA, excepting any private support.

Number of Trainees  :  30 Trainees, who may impact on the poultry production of Myanmar

                    :  15 from Government Sector (Public)

                    :  15 from Private Sector (Private)

Qualifications of Trainees  :  Need to achieve degree of BVSc

              :  Good English level

              :  Willing to develop their knowledge within the field of avian pathologies and pultry management

Certificate for Trainees  :  The Parties will discuss and evaluate about the presentation of a specific certificate 

                                       dedicated to the candidates having completed the training as regards to its objective.

Duration              :  Part I (15th – 19th December, 2014)

              :  Part II (January 1st week or 2nd week)

              :  Part III (March 2nd week or 3rd week)

              :  Part IV (June 1st week or 2nd week)

Week 1               :  Bacterial diseases review (Mycoplasmosis, Salmonellosis, Clostridial, Coryza, Colibacillosis …)

              :  Cardiovascular diseases

              :  Parasitic diseases (Coccidiosis, Aspergillus)

              :  Field visit+ Practical Work (Post-mortem analysis)

Week 2               :  Viral diseases review (Gumboro, Fowl Pox, Newcastle, Marek, IB, HPAI …)

              :  Immunology and diagnosis

              :  Field visit

Week 3               :  Small scale farming (Management, dominant diseases …)

              :  Biosecurity

              :  Treatment/ Prevention

              :  Vaccines and vaccination techniques

              :  Asian poultry sectors

              :  Field visit

Week 4               :  Breeders/ Layers (management and pathologies)

              :  Duck (management and pathologies)

              :  Field vist + Practical work

              :  + ‘Free subject upon student’s request’

              :  Mycotoxicoses in Poultry

Equipments & Kits Required  :  Post – mortem Analysis (Tray, Bone Cutter, Scissors, Forceps)

              :  Immunology and Diagnosis (ELISA Kits for ND & IBD, Mycotoxins)

              :  Vaccination Equipments for Demonstration

              :  Molecular Diagnosis (RT-PCR Kits for IBD & ND) for Scientific Collaboration
